Rosalind Colwill, an English lady, established Amaudo Itumbauzo in 1990, in response to increasing numbers of homeless mentally ill men and women in local towns in Abia State. From this community grew new projects, which aim to tackle some of the many issues mental health and illness present. These include human rights abuse, access to community psychiatric care and working with children with learning disabilities and their families.
